Empowering Communities by Getting Involved
Los Angeles Fire Department first responders face an enormous array of challenges: wildfires, car and truck accidents, train collisions, earthquakes, and hazardous-material leaks and spills. On a daily basis, the Los Angeles Fire Department receives 1,350 calls and transports over 600 people to the hospital. Firefighters must endure searing heat, exposure to carcinogens and other life-threatening conditions.
With only 4% of the budget being allocated to essential equipment, new technology and training to help firefighters do their job, the city of Los Angeles has a shortfall when it comes to essential needs for our firefighters. Since 2010, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation has been supporting the LAFD in protecting lives, property and the environment by providing essential equipment, training, and public outreach programs to supplement city resources.
Banc of California has partnered with the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation to help make our society and community better by adopting fire stations and providing them equipment that they need to function on a day-to-day basis. Banc of California is involved in providing volunteer hours, making a more efficient banking experience for the Foundation and serving on their board to have an impact on daily lives and the needs of firefighters.
“Banc of California has been a great partner with us at the Foundation in terms of fulfilling our needs to support the Los Angeles Fire Department.”
– Liz Lin, President of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation
